Sun Up of Indian River is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1992 and formed for the purpose of providing residential and work opportunities for developmentally disabled adults in a community environment, while at the same time striving to increase the awareness and sensitivity of the public to the special abilities of adults with disabilities.

Our vision is to create a community where people with developmental disabilities can live in a safe, secure, pleasant environment where each person is treated with dignity and respect while achieving their maximum potential.

Our  Sun Up Saturdays educational program  in conjunction with the Adult and Community Education Program of the Indian River County School District was established to give the disabled individual an opportunity to learn new tasks as well as maintain previously learned skills.  Activities such as cooking, job interviewing, job seeking, computer basics, photography, swimming and water safety are just some of the courses offered.

The Sun Up Coffee House offers an opportunity for parents or caregivers to receive a much-needed break.  Our participants have the opportunity to socialize and enjoy games that develop a variety of skills.
